W.A.L.T Explain the science behind making Hokey Pokey.
Lately, we have been making and baking food while the year 7's in our class have gone to high school to do fun things like baking, technology, sewing and more. This term we get to do baking and we made Hokey pokey. To make it we needed 3 simple ingredients, Golden syrup, White sugar, and baking soda. I really enjoyed when we were making it because it smelled amazing!!!! I found it challenging to get the Hokey pokey onto the tray on time. The way that the science works is that the golden syrup gives the hokey pokey the flavor while the baking soda releases air into the mixture allowing it to rise. One thing that would make it BTB (Better than Before) is by taking it out of the pan a wee bit faster so it doesn't burn.

  1. Hi Bela, it's your amazing best friend Clara!!!! This video is really entertaining! But maybe next time you could take it out quicker so it doesn't burn like you said. And also you could make the lighting a bit better. But great video and good job on the caption! From Clara
